Each generation spawns different themes, for the longest time, the purpose of life was questioned and various wisdom applied to lesser and greater understanding. The union of a man and a woman is as precise and perfect as the children with which they bring into the world, ever since Adam and Eve. There is nothing left to chance in the perfect gnome of God's grace.
So then, the Court proposes love, but its purposeless and largely selfish in that it can only exist to gratify itself.
